I received it covered with something that looks like mineral wool fibres. Had to clean it a few times before managing to get rid of everything.
The cable works as it should and the lenght is good. It cannot be connected to another cable to make it longer, which is not ideal.

The cables are wrapped very tight before shopping which causes long term irreversible damage to the cable. I tried getting the kinks out by unwinding and laying flat but there are still parts that are twisted. Still usable but would have liked to not worry about that piece at all.
In the past when we’ve had a long or tall rig, you would have to secure the Ballast from a 600d close to the light head. Aputure’s quick-release clamp is nice, but I don’t really trust it not to fall off of a Menace Arm attached to a Mambo Combo that’s 15 feet in the air. That generally meant safety chains and ratchet straps, which is a pain. The 25’ head cable lets you leave the ballast on the ground; much safer and more convenient.
I own two of these cords and they help when I need the extra length from the control box to the head. The build quality is definitely robust.
