The LS 300d II is 20% brighter, more durable, more portable, and more intelligent than the original 300d. When combined with the Fresnel 2X, the 300d Mark II can produce up to 90,000 lux, approaching the luminance of a 575W HMI.

Redesigned fixture. The LS 300d II features a new yoke which allows for 360º of rotation. When combined with a secure disk brake locking mechanism, you’ll be able to mount the light in any position, with any Bowens Mount modifier. The LS 300d II also features a complete redesign of the control box with a fan-less heatsink design.

Multiple control methods. In addition to the control wheel, the LS 300d II features DMX512 compatibility, a 2.4GHz wireless remote, and the ability to be controlled by our Sidus Link App.

Terrific Light!

We bought two of the first generation Aputure 300d’s when they came out. We really loved the quality of the light and the brightness. So, when it came time to add more to our lighting kit, we got two 300d MkII. Not only is the quality and brightness of this version of the light great, but the MkII is MUCH easier to use with the single control/power unit. We also love how that box can be mounted on a light or C stand with the supplied clamp. The cables are long enough to work well in virtually any shooting situation. We have not powered the light with batteries because we simply don’t have bricks powerful enough to do so but we love having the option. I highly recommend these lights. We use ours all the time and they have held up very well. The photo shows the 300d II being used as a key light with the Aputure soft box for an interview. Note the daylight pouring in through the door, so having the 5600K Aputure was crucial.

Fantastic Light

I've got 3 of these in my studio set up alongside two Nova 300s and I cannot adequately explain how much easier life has become. I now have endless flexibility. Can't say enough good about the 300d II and the Nova 300.

Great but one major issue.

It’s all good except for one major flaw:
It turns on automatically when you plug it in, no matter whether you had it turned off previously or not.
When you use batteries, if you happened to leave your light anywhere above 25% before plugging them in, it’ll blow fuse.
Not to mention, you don’t want anyone inadvertently looking at it when that happens, too many people on set, it makes no sense that this happens.
It just shouldn’t turn itself on when you plug it in or put batteries in. It should just power the brick, ready to be turned on on your mark.

Sounds like you have Studio Mode turned on in the menu. You can turn that off.

Great light

This light is a great value. It offers tons of light and the built in effects have actually proven themselves to be useful (as opposed to feeling gimmicky). Using the SidusLink app to control this fixture along with the other lights in the aputure family is pretty great as well.
